Geophysics
Introduction |
GSG has embarked on thousands of projects, including hundreds of geophysical projects on behalf of commercial, industrial, government and other private clients. Also, our company apply geophysical methods to resolve environmental, hydrologic, mining, and engineering problems. Geophysical methods offer a noninvasive means of measuring subsurface characteristics.
Many of the geophysical methods employed by industry today were originally developed for fossil fuel and mineral exploration. These geophysical techniques have been successfully adapted to various engineering and environmental applications.
Today, GSG provides comprehensive geophysical services across the country and the Arabic countries to solve a large variety of problems for a diverse group of clients. Our geophysical team remains dedicated to providing quality geophysics for all clients on all projects.
Geophysics section
Geophysics Sector:
- We provide geophysical services for civil engineering, environmental science, archaeology and non-destructive testing applications, with a successful record of projects in the Egypt.
- All our survey are done by highly qualified geophysicists - not technicians, solving on-site problems by customizing data acquisition to the highest levels of technical excellence. Survey results are presented in an easy to understand engineering compatible format.
- Many public and privately funded endeavors require subsurface information. Geophysical measurements provide a basis for projecting culture and geological observations into the underground. Imaging the subsurface using geophysical methods is often less expensive, safer and faster than wholesale, brute force drilling and excavating. Geophysical methods are nondestructive and relatively unobtrusive subsurface surveys.
- Surface and borehole geophysics methods are utilized for delineation of various phenomena including; profiling of bedrock topography and structure, location of voids, sinkholes and old mineshafts, mapping of the water table, and integrity testing of various surface and underwater structure.
WHAT IS APPLIED GEOPHYSICS?
- Applied geophysics investigates physical properties of the ground, providing vital information on subsurface material conditions for numerous practical applications. Geophysical investigations are non-intrusive and non-invasive, avoiding the disruption caused by intrusive investigations such as drilling and pitting. Geophysical surveys cover large site areas rapidly, and optimize the targeting of necessary intrusive inspections. In environments where intrusive investigations are not permissible, only geophysics can provide the answers.
